Each month I will list the devotional readings for the course of a four-week period. I'd love for you to read along and enter into the discussion. The suggested reading is divided into two parts: 1) The Chronological Scripture and 2) Weekly Sunday Old Testament, Epistle and Gospel readings relative to that particular week in the Christian calendar year.
As you read this scripture I suggest starting a devotional journal, taking notes on the scripture's themes, passages and questions you might have about what you read. Writing down your thoughts on the scripture helps you to hold onto what you've learned in your reading and apply your understanding to your faith.
It also helps to start off each devotion with a prayer. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just ask that the Holy Spirit open your heart to the understanding of God's holy Word and offer discernment in your reading.
I've organized the readings on a Thursday to Thursday week, as that's the day I hope to consistently post entries summarizing the chronological readings. Feel free to adjust the week to fit your own schedule.
